Well there is your answer mate - it is a skoda!

No, sorry, but seriously, it could well be a problem with the fuel pump, have you checked / had that checked? Are the fuel lines okay?

check the ht leads are secure.
Make sure you have no loose wires on the alternator

cheap way to find out professionally.. get a mechanic to come and give a free quote, after he tells you the problem, thank him and say youll let him know if you want it repaired.
Then do the job yourself :-)

A bit of dirt got through the fuel pipe? If you run the car down to a near-empty fuel tank you run the risk of any bits of dirt that have sunk to the bottom being fed through the pipes and this may cause a small blockage. l think you should take it into a reliable garage and get them to have a look.

Top marks for owning up to having a Skoda - we have a vRS and are proud of it!

First off the new Skodas kick ass especially Octavias so do not let people here take the piss.

l doubt its your fuel pump its probably your spark plugs take them out and give them a clean with a wire brush, make sure the gaps are the correct size you will find the proper gap for your model in your car info booklet.

Hope this helps.

It sounds like the selodoid part of the starter motor, which means u have 2 replace the whole starter. mine is gone before and sounds like the same thing. ilthough l have an escort though but most starters are basically the same and do the same job, a new 1 4 my car is around £90.

Check your fuel-pump. It is probably at fault, OR get your fuel-lines checked!
