l have a Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDl Estate and would like to know what bhp it has. It is 2002 and not a red eye which is 110bhp. l know there is 90 bhp, 110bhp and possibly 105bhp.It seems to pull a bit to well for a heavy car to be 90bhp.Any ideas how to find out?

try the mot certificates, not to sure but they MIGHT hold the answer

l would suggest you take a note of the vehicle VIN number and then contact the owners group as they may well be able to help. Alternatively take the same information to your local franchised Skoda dealer, go to their service department and l am pretty sure that they will be able to call it up on their data base. It may be an idea to buy something from them though at the same time, maybe some oil or the such like.

You will have the 105 bhp version almost for sure assuming it is a UK spec car. It does pull well and l nearly bought one but l fancied the 140 bhp version which they call a 2 litre although it is very close capacity to the so called 1.9. Unfortunately they only do the 4x4 with the 105 bhp 1.9 so l bought something else instead.

if you phone a good motor factors with the pretence of buying a part say for instance an oil filter they will tap your reg No in to their computer and all the information relating to your car will be shown on the screen, you could then ask them as they are looking at the info would they please tell you the engine code and the b.h.p.

Basically u need to find the engine number in ur logbook/registration document e.g. ATD540346. The three letters will tell u which state of tune ur engine is in, the ATD as fitted in my Seat Ibiza is 100bhp. ur engine code should be in this list :-
alh=90 bhp
agr=90 bhp
ahf=110bhp
ajm=115bhp
afn=110bhp
ale=90bhp
axr=100bhp
anu=90bhp
asv=110bhp
auy=115bhp
atd=100bhp
asz=131bhp
arl=150bhp
