RS typically stands for Rally Sport On a Skoda the V could refer to the positioning of the pistons. Check Wikipedia.

On most cars:

GT is Grand Touring

LE is Luxury Edition

SE is Special Edition

STE is Special Touring Edition

l is injected

C is coupe or Convertible depending on the brand.

The ''RS'' part is a term used by many manufacturers to denote a sporty model. With Ford it stands for ''Rallye Sport''. It may stand for something similar with Skoda (possibly ''Rally Sport''), or it may simply be a copy of the Ford letters.

The ''v'' does not actually stand for anything, but is a representation of the caron (accent) over the ''o'' in the correct Czech spelling of ''Skǒda''.
