Your Oil Pump is lubricating the Engine parts starting from the top and gravity runs it to the bottom back in the pan depending on year and Owners manual be sure it gets changed ( The Oil that is ) every 3,000 miles and the Oil Filter the same time.

however the Hot of the engine are you really saying the heart of the engine ?

l just wanted to be sure.

an oil pump keeps things lubricated. When things are lubricated the heat generated by friction of moving parts is reduced. Put the palms of your dry hands together, now slide one past another quickly...your hands warm up right? Put some kind of cream on your hands and do the same again. No heat. Same principle. The crankshaft rotates 1000 times per minute at idle.and 8000 at red line. Think about how fast that is. It needs lubrication to keep the heat down.

No .if the oil pump goes out the engine will lock up.

You should have a censor to confirm the oil pump does not work when going out. Check engine .etc

> Cut your motor off and have it replaced before cranking again.
