l had this problem on my skoda,i put more coolant in,just normal water will do fine in this weather,but make sure you drain it b4 winter comes.
also when you are driving,put your heater on the hotess it will go,making sure that you open all the windows eles it gets really hot and the temputure should go down in less that 5 mins,hope that helps
